Will Alcoholic beverages hinder your results? The answer is Yes it can! Everything you do in life, should be done in moderation. Balancing good and evil is essential in wanting and obtaining results.
Wanting to give my audience factual based answers, I did some research and I am happy to share some of the things that stood out to me.

2. “Some of the compounds found in wine that protect arteries from the damaging effects of LDL cholesterol actually can be obtained more healthfully through fruits and vegetables, particularly grapes and grape juice.”
My take on alcoholic beverages is based on an overall aspect of my caloric intake and food choices. Ever heard of certain drinks being called empty calories. This is my view on alcoholic beverages. Alcohol breaks down to sugar which will increase the number of calories that you have taken in but will not be satisfying to you feeling hungry. I was introduced to Sake by my boyfriend which have become my alcoholic beverage of choice.
My meals are based on high protein and complex carbs mainly from fibrous vegetables so when I throw in a glass or two of sake in the mix, I’m getting the best of both worlds.
A lot of individuals use alcohol as a method to deal with their stress. The emotional strain can cause one to turn to food and alcohol as a source of comfort which can become an issue without being aware of the affects. I’ve learned to not do this through my journey. The rollercoaster of making poor food choices and gaining weight throw’s my body chemistry off, resulting in nutrient deficiencies that set off more emotional problems. Being overweight is stressful. The constant pressure to lose weight through dieting takes an emotional toll. I no longer struggle with this because I have learned to deal with my emotions differently, hence why I have been able to be happy and stay happy and keep the pounds off.
The catch with alcohol is it causes the blood sugar to rise, and over time this leads to blood sugar issues. Please google and do more research on this. When slowing down or working towards stopping alcohol habit, and as you begin to detoxify, give your body the extra support it needs. Get a lab exam to check the functioning of certain organs, such as: the liver, kidneys, thyroid, heart. This will give you an idea which vitamins and minerals you will need to supplement. One that comes to mind is chromium picolinate will help normalize sugar metabolism too.
As I started to take a good look at my daily consumption of sugar and decreasing it, I came to learn how much my body and my metabolism can handle. As I began to revise my diet, I became aware of hidden sugars. I stopped overloading my body with sugar, and began to notice more regularities with my menstrual cycle and mood, and the desire for alcohol decreased. So, to answer the initial question, 3- 5 oz with a meal a couple of nights during the week is no harm.
I think the wisdom I have gained through understanding it all is that once I monitor how much sugar I take in, the less of it I needed. Remember to improve taste and boost sales manufacturers add sugar to almost everything. We will discuss this in the future…
