Will alcoholic beverages hinder your results?

Will Alcoholic beverages hinder your results? The answer is Yes it can! Everything you do in life, should be done in moderation. Balancing good and evil is essential in wanting and obtaining results.   Wanting to give my audience factual based answers, I did some research and I am happy to share some of the things that stood out to me.   1.“Alcoholic beverages destroy protective antioxidants, such as: folic acid, B complex vitamins and contribute to various cancers and strokes."   2. “Some of the compounds found in wine that protect arteries from the damaging effects of LDL cholesterol actually can be obtained more healthfully through fruits and vegetables, particularly grapes and grape juice.” My take on alcoholic beverages is based on an overall aspect of my caloric intake and food choices.  Ever heard of certain drinks being called empty calories. This is my view on alcoholic beverages. Alcohol breaks down to sugar which will increase the number of calories t...

How exercise helps cope with anxiety?

2020 has been a year of stress & anxiety, and I think the one thing that is helping me right now is my ability to zero in on my health & nutrition that corresponds exact to my biological profile.  I’m a female, considered to be in mid-life ages, of a Haitian descent, frame is small, standing at 5 feet 1 inch, a compact body type that makes me appear bigger than a taller person with similar muscle mass, and an x or what we call hourglass shape based on my measurements which includes my bust, waist and hip measurements (to calculate your body type you can click on this calculator and enter your measurements).  Arming myself with this information has helped to make choices about my food, exercise regimens and general health that align more with maintaining this shape while losing excess unhealthy fat and weight. While I am trying my best to maintain and sustain this new lifestyle, it gets difficult when faced with outside stressors such as anxiety. Anxiety can throw o...

How does the whole house get to eating healthy?

Replated Rice & Beans (spinach, kale and onions included) Healthy eating equals a healthy family! We often think that the only person who should be eating healthy is the person who is trying to lose weight. That is a lie!  Anyone and everyone should be attempting to eat healthy.   Healthy eating keeps diseases away and body in optimal shape. This article will help parents think of new ideas for healthy food preparation. I have a young child that hates vegetables. It was important that I found new ways to incorporate vegetables into his eating habits. I did and I called it replating.  I simply found ways to incorporate fruit and vegetables in every meal and make it look differently while respecting every family member's preferences.  Do not like the way vegetables & fruits look - Make them to look differently.  Growing in a Caribbean household meant that you did not have much choice in what you ate. You were given plates of food...

Who is Fabienne Daniel!

A Haitian American woman born and raised in Brooklyn who found a way of tackling my lifelong weight problem. Carrying excess weight most of my life, I was constantly reminded of the issues that I could face because of this. Issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems to name a few because I had family members who suffered from them. While health issues were a major factor, the excess weight also played a major role on how I viewed myself. While I loved myself very much and would not consider me to have a low self esteem, I found that I was unhappy with how I felt and looked at times which I attributed to the weight. My weight fluctuated for many years due to fad diets which I would commit to for a couple of months but would never give me the results I wanted. Sure it allowed me to look good for an occasion or even a season but once I was off the diet, I often reverted back to where I began, if not at an even higher weight. I was pretty much fed up and gave...
